This past weekend, the Jr League Provisional class did a ropes course in Micanopy. I did a ropes course for the MBA program back in January, but this time it was different. We could not have asked for a better day - it was warm and clear with a cool breeze. The last time I was to do the ropes course, it was terrible outside so we were limited to more inside activities.
The hardest obstacle was the ladder. It was about 30 feet high, with each beam about 10 ft long and 4ft apart from each other. Somehow, my partner D helped get me all the way yup to the top. I didn't think I was going to be scared, but as soon as I was up, BAM. I was scared. When we touched down to the ground, I just started to bawl. I felt kind of stupid at first, but it passed as I realized what we had done. It helped that I wasn't the only one who cried too.
Today, every bone and muscle in my body still hurts.
BUT
We still did our run this morning! We did the short 1.5 mi loop but set a faster pace and kept it most of the way. I feel like I've hit a plateau so I tried to push it this morning. My new goal is to do the 2.5 mi loop in the time we're doing the 1.5 mi loop. I think that's an obtainable goal by the wedding. I really want to do a 10k in the spring sometime. That'll be my next goal.
